New Release Review! Royal Alpha (High House Canis #5) Riley Storm!

Hello Again Readers! Today I visiting High House Canis to see how well Logan is doing now that the rebels have returned to Moonshadow Manor and he has been anointed King! Enjoy and don't forget to add Royal Alpha by Riley Storm to your shelves!

Caught between duty and desire…

All her life, Heather has lived with the knowledge that at any moment, she might lose control and turn into a murderous beast. The Loup-Garou virus lives in all female shifters and can manifest at any time before their thirty-first birthday—which is still a year away. Only thanks to her family’s protection is she living a life free, instead of behind bars. So when her mother cons the new King of their House into mating her off to a political rival, Heather feels little choice but to agree. Even if that man is the complete opposite of the person she truly longs for…

Logan has led the rebels of House Canis in their long struggle for freedom, and now that they’ve ousted the former Tyrant King from their ancestral home of Moonshadow Manor, his followers have all but anointed him their ruler. The position is tenuous at best until the official coronation ceremony, however, and a string of bad decisions leaves him vulnerable to several political figures. He must focus on keeping his House united, which means giving his blessing for the only woman he’s ever cared about to be mated to someone else.

Although their relationship may have ended three years earlier, that doesn’t mean their feelings have been extinguished by time. If anything, the flame has burned higher with distance. Both Logan and Heather are fighting their hearts, trying to do what they see as their responsibility to House Canis instead. It’s what’s demanded of them by their peers, and by their own sense of morals. But the more time they spend together, the harder it becomes to resist temptation. Will they be able to find a way to be together, or will duty win out over desire?

Heather has lived all her life with the knowledge that at any moment she could turn in a murderous beast and only her family’s protection has kept her being imprisoned, so when her mother cons the new king into mating her off to a political rival, Heather has no choice but to agree. Logan’s new position as King of the House Canis is tenuous as best and he’s vulnerable to several political figures, so in order to keep his house united, he gives his blessing for the only woman he’s every cared about to mated to someone else.

The relationship between Logan and Heather has lots of chemistry heating up the pages but this relationship is rocky at best and doomed if duty has it way. These strong, bold characters are both stubborn and determined to let duty hold sway over their hearts desires which keeps emotions high and quite turbulent throughout the story along with all of the turmoil that goes along with trying to protect the people of Moonshadow Manor and keep the greedy political figures from gaining a foothold.

This final book in the ‘High House Canis’ series is a lot going on and readers can’t help but get caught up in the fast paced action and excitement as Logan and his allies search for the previous king which leads to several deadly battles and the conniving political maneuvering keeps everyone on edge.  Twists and spectacular magical battles take place throughout the story as well adding to the excitement and suspense ensuring that readers never find a dull moment in this stimulating read…and that’s not to mention the stunning conclusion.

Riley is one of those early-morning people you love to hate, because she swears she doesn't need caffeine, even though the coffee-maker is connected to her smartphone. She lives in a three-story townhouse by the good graces of a tabby-cat who rules the house, the couch, the table, well, basically everywhere. When she's not groveling for forgiveness for neglecting to pet her kitty enough, Riley is strapped in to her writing chair coming up with crazy worlds where she can make her own decisions of when feeding time is and how much coffee can be drank without her friends--of which she has three--holding yet another intervention that they threaten to post on the internet.
